Privacy Policy

BBQ Buddy is designed to keep your cook history private. This policy describes its data practices.

Data the app handles

BBQ Buddy stores cook plans and logs such as cooker, fuel, protein, cut, temperatures, milestones, notes, outcomes, equipment, photos, preferences, and notification settings. This information is stored locally using SwiftData. If you enable iCloud sync, it is stored in your private CloudKit account so it can sync across your devices.

Photos, notifications, and on-device intelligence

You can choose to add photos using the camera or photo library. Notifications are used only for cook reminders you configure. Suggestions use Apple Foundation Models on-device. BBQ Buddy does not use a cloud AI provider, advertising, analytics, or subscription system.

Sharing and retention

BBQ Buddy does not sell your data. Your cook data remains on your device and, when enabled, in your private iCloud account until you delete it. You can remove individual cooks in the app, turn off permissions in Settings, and manage iCloud data through your Apple account settings.
